What is free

Both apps give you unlimited local dictation for free. superwhisper puts file transcription in Pro. Saypane transcribes the first 15 minutes of every file for free, so short recordings need no purchase at all.

Price

superwhisper Pro is a subscription ($8.49 a month or $84.99 a year) or a $249.99 lifetime licence. Saypane Pro is one in-app purchase through the Microsoft Store, with no subscription option at all.

What superwhisper does better

  • Modes. It can reformat what you say as a message or an email, or by your own instructions, using AI models.
  • More platforms. The same app on Mac, iPhone and Android.
  • Model choice, local and cloud.

Which one to choose

  • Choose superwhisper if you want AI modes, use several platforms, or already own a lifetime licence.
  • Choose Saypane if you work on Windows, want dictation plus file and meeting transcription with speaker labels in one app, and prefer a single low one-time price.
