Offline and the word allowance
DictaFlow's free plan works through its cloud and is limited to 2,000 words a month, which a regular user can reach in a day or two. Offline dictation without word limits is part of Pro and, according to its FAQ, needs setting up in the app first and is not yet available on every Android device. AI cleanup still uses the cloud. Saypane is offline for everyone, free, with no word count.
What DictaFlow does better
- AI cleanup. Say "Thursday, actually Friday" and you get "Friday". Saypane writes both.
- Voice editing of selected text on desktop.
- Every device, including phones, under one account.
- A separate Medical service for patient information.
Which one to choose
- Choose DictaFlow if you want AI to tidy your speech and use phones as well, and a subscription is fine.
- Choose Saypane if you want unlimited offline dictation for free on Windows, plus transcription of recordings, without a subscription.
