Privacy
Short version: Saypane processes your voice and your recordings on your PC and sends nothing about you anywhere. It goes online only to download speech models and for Microsoft Store purchases and updates.
The Saypane app
- Speech recognition runs on your PC. Your audio, transcripts, dictation history and custom vocabulary are stored only on your PC. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- The app has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no account.
- When you dictate, Saypane briefly uses the clipboard to insert the text and then restores what was there before. In windows that run as administrator, your dictated text stays on the clipboard so you can paste it.
When the app uses the network
- Model downloads. When a speech model is needed for the first time, Saypane downloads it from models.saypane.com, or from Hugging Face if that fails. Like any web download, the server sees your IP address and which file is requested. No audio, text or personal data is sent. Hugging Face handles its downloads under the Hugging Face privacy policy.
- Microsoft Store. The download, the Saypane Pro purchase and updates are handled by the Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes that information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We do not receive your payment details.
- Nothing else. Once your models are downloaded, Saypane works with no network connection.
This website
- We count anonymous page views (page, referrer, country, browser, device type and any campaign parameters in the link) with Counterscale, an open-source tool we host ourselves. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage and stores no IP addresses. No other analytics, no third-party scripts and no third-party fonts.
- Like any web host, the server that delivers these pages and the model files may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, file and time) for security and operations. We do not use them to track you.
Support emails
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you. Do not send us recordings or transcripts with personal data; we never need them to help.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect.
