Does Saypane really work offline?
Yes. Speech recognition runs on your PC. A small model is included in the app, and the larger ones are downloaded once. After that, dictation and transcription work with no network connection at all.
How much does it cost? Is it a subscription?
Free download with free, unlimited dictation. Saypane Pro is a one-time in-app purchase of $24.99. No subscription, no account, no trial timer. Saypane Pro is bought once inside the app through the Microsoft Store.
Is free dictation really unlimited?
Yes. There is no word count, no time limit and no weekly reset. Cloud apps limit free words because every word costs them server time; Saypane runs on your PC, so there is nothing to meter.
What can I transcribe for free?
The first 15 minutes of every file, as a complete transcript you can export to TXT, with no watermark and no limit on the number of files. Saypane Pro transcribes files of any length and adds speaker labels, meeting recording, a batch queue and SRT, VTT, DOCX and JSON export.
Which languages does it understand?
Parakeet covers 25 European languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch and Polish. Whisper covers the other languages it supports, including Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Which model for which language.
Will it run on my PC?
You need Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), a processor with 4 cores and AVX2, and 8 GB of memory. A graphics card is optional; Saypane uses Vulkan on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel graphics. Requirements and models.
Why does dictation not type into some windows?
Windows blocks apps from typing into programs that run as administrator. Saypane notices this, keeps your text on the clipboard and tells you to press Ctrl+V. Some full screen games ignore typed input too. Details.
Can it tell speakers apart?
Yes, with Saypane Pro. Each passage is labeled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. It works best on clear audio where people take turns; crosstalk and similar voices cause mistakes, so check the labels.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit (x64), installed through the Microsoft Store.
Does Saypane send my voice or text anywhere?
No. Audio, transcripts, dictation history and vocabulary stay on your PC. The app goes online only to download speech models and for Microsoft Store purchases and updates. See the privacy policy.
Will it ask me to rate the app?
No. Saypane never shows a "rate us" popup, and nothing is locked behind a rating.
