Pick a hotkey and a mode
Hold to talk: hold the key while you speak, release to insert. Toggle: press once to start, once to stop, which is easier on sore hands.

Saypane adds punctuation and capitals. The microphone opens on key press, with a short buffer, so your first word is kept.

Through a quick paste, after which your clipboard is restored. In terminals it types the characters instead.

Good to know
- Saypane cannot type into apps that run as administrator; Windows blocks it. The text stays on the clipboard and a notification tells you to press Ctrl+V. More
- Saypane does not take voice commands such as "delete that" or "select the last word". You fix text with the keyboard.
- It writes what you said. It does not rewrite your text in a different tone.
- If every recording comes out empty, Windows is probably blocking the microphone. Fix it here.

Is there an offline Wispr Flow alternative for Windows?
Yes. Saypane does the same basic job, hold a key, talk, and the text appears in any app, but the speech recognition runs on your PC instead of in the cloud, so it works offline. How fast is it?
On our test PC, Parakeet transcribed about 13 times faster than real time on 4 CPU threads, so a 10-second sentence is ready in under a second. Whisper large v3 turbo needs a GPU through Vulkan or 8 or more CPU threads to keep up with dictation. Models and hardware.
Does it work in Word, Outlook, Teams, Slack and the browser?
Yes. Saypane inserts text into whichever app has the text cursor. The exceptions are apps running as administrator and some full screen games. Why.
Can I say "comma" or "new paragraph"?
Saypane adds punctuation automatically from how you speak. It does not have voice commands in this version, so spoken punctuation and editing commands are not supported.
